6/10/2010 - Brithinee Electric Named Small Business of the Year for the 62nd District

Inland Empire, California, June 10, 2010—Brithinee Electric owners, Donald and Wallace Brithinee,  received the honorable designation of  “Small Business of the Year” for the 62nd District at a special awards ceremony held at the State Capitol in Sacramento, on May 25, 2010.

Assembly member Wilmer Amina Carter, D-Rialto selected the Colton-based business, recognizing the firm’s positive strides in making an environmental difference in the state, setting the standards for the motor repair industry. “It’s important to recognize small businesses. They have a significant impact on the state’s economy. Brithinee is a green technology company and the owners are making huge investments in the environment to cut costs, comply with customer demands, and remain competitive,” Carter said in a statement.

Brithinee Electric is a “green” company –“green” in the sense that the wind turbine and generator business is a key component of their business. According to Wally Brithinee, “In order to enlarge the plant, the equipment needed must be state-of-the-art, to satisfy the strict standards of air quality regulators.”

Brithinee Electric is one of the largest sellers of NEMA Premium Efficiency industrial electric motors. These motors are the highest electrical efficiency motors available today. Brithinee Electric repairs maintain or exceed the original motor’s power efficiency.

The current facility expansion of the current facility by 20,000 square feet will enable the company to accommodate much larger motors and generators, particularly for the renewable energy sector, including wind turbines. The expansion will double the company’s production capacity and double the size capability of the department, which repairs and remanufactures motors and generators. The firm has doubled its number of employees since the year 2000.

The firm specializes in remanufacturing industrial electric motors and wind generators and produces custom motor control centers for clients throughout the western United States. For more information about the company visit the website at www.brithinee.com.
