11/1/2008 - Transform Your Life With "Pearls" for Healthy Living- Heather Pena, M.D. We were delighted to once again have been asked by Harvard Medical School to participate in their recent conference at the Culinary Institute of America, Greystone, here in the Napa Valley, Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Lives. As an alum, I am always eager to work with my colleagues from Harvard and this time was able to present our encouraging findings from the Center for Health’s Transformations program. For those who know me you know my philosophy on how making very simple changes in what and how you eat, along with a few changes in behavior, you can literally transform your life. We now are able to present the findings from a group of those who have participated in the Transformations program - and we are happy to report that the labs are proving out the philosophy. We’ve now been able to collect data on over 300 people who have participated in our Transformations program since its inception and have seen dramatic changes in a very short period of time. Once people learn how to incorporate the wisdom of what they learn in the program into their own daily routine, they can lose weight the right way and their lab results start to improve dramatically. A cornerstone for the program are "tried-and-true nuggets of advice" I've garnered through my years in preventive medicine and I call them "Pearls for Healthy Living."
