10/10/2008 - St. Helena Hospital Foundation Gala is November 8Koerner Rombauer, founder of Rombauer Vineyards, will be honored at the St. Helena Hospital Foundation’s 14th annual gala on November 8 at The Napa Valley Reserve. Best known for his namesake wines, Rombauer also has traveled the world from high above as a commercial airline pilot and has dedicated the last 35 years to supporting community organizations in the Napa Valley. He is the inspiration behind the Flights of Fancy theme for this year’s gala. In memory of his wife Joan, who worked by his side until she succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 2002, Rombauer has dedicated this year’s proceeds to support the new Martin O’Neil Cancer Center, which is under construction at St. Helena Hospital, as well as cancer research at the facility. Event tickets are $500 per person and include a reception, dinner plus silent and live auctions that feature rare wine lots, distinctive dinners at private estates, and sporting and other getaway opportunities. The event is held at The Napa Valley Reserve. For more information, call 963-6208 or visit www.shhfoundation.org
